Chilean 308 Ammo

A number of years ago I bought 1000 rounds of Cavim 308 ammo from a mail order house. I shot some of this stuff in my M1A, and it seemed to be VERY hot. So much so that I never shot any more of it because I did'nt want to punish my rifle. Does anybody out there know anything about Cavim ammo &.

1912 Chilean I have a Steyr-made M1912 Chilean in 7.62. It is a 98 action, and I have shot a lot of US surplus 7.62 as well as generic .308, without any problem. It is the tightest, smoothest Mauser I have ever owned. I think I paid about $120 ten or so years ago.

Digging through my ammo stores I found two ammo cans full of 20 round boxed Chilean 7.62 NATO. Boxes marked FAMAE 7.62 NATO. Cartridges headstamped F, TO, 76, NA. Green primer and bullet sealant. Brass case. Pulled a bullet and found 44 grains of unknown manufacture ball propellant. Berdan primed. Bullet copper jacketed lead core 147gr.
